Jerry L. Petersen's Special Combat Aggressive Reactionary Systems Combat Fighting Course (SCARS/CFC) is touted as being proven in combat. The SCARS system is offensive, not defensive, in nature -- a point on which the SCARS material harps constantly. This is a valid concept, though the utter horror with which some SCARS stylists view terms that even sound defensive rather than offensive in nature is a bit overdone. In SCARS, there are no blocks -- only strikes. This is semantics, of course, but you can make an argument for insistence on offensive terminology only as building and triggering the appropriate mindset for the aggressive fighter.

This is the only course in Hand to Weapon training that has ever been given the credentials from CNET [the education authority for the US Navy] and the Department of Defense. PLUS, you also get Grabs, Holds and Chokes, it takes you step-by-step through all types of grabs, holds, and chokes, showing you a non-lethal approach to putting down a criminal attack. These two additional tapes were the first tapes released to the general public in 1993, and sold well over 30,000 copies in the first nine months of their release. They are an absolute must for completing a professional understanding of violent action.

This Boost adds additional devastating information making a strong and powerful fighting system even though a non-lethal approach is taken. Don't let that fool you. You'll learn how to use your hands and feet together as you never have before. The Boost may be non-lethal but the attacker is going to make a trip to the hospital when you get done using this information.
